Supporting women from difficult backgrounds through education, vocational training, and community building across Tanzania.
Since our registration in 2022, we have reached thousands of lives across Arusha and beyond.
Tupendane Africa Foundation was founded by Ms. Roseline Mushi, a passionate educator and community leader who grew up in a low-income family where women and children often suffered the most. As a child, Roseline struggled to access education and could only continue school through the support of her relatives.
Driven by her dream to make a difference, Roseline studied to become a teacher. When she entered the classroom, she discovered heartbreaking realities: many of her students faced poverty, lack of support, early pregnancies, and violence at home.
In response, she founded Tupendane Africa Foundation — a safe space where women and children could find support, education, skills, and hope.
"Tupendane was born from pain but built with purpose — today, it is a growing movement of empowerment, love, and transformation."
Tupendane Africa Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in 2022. The organization is dedicated to creating lasting positive change in society by addressing issues related to gender equality, discrimination, and poverty. Through a holistic approach that encompasses education, vocational training, community building, and advocacy, we aim to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
Tupendane Africa Foundation envisions a society that upholds gender equality, dignity, respect, and fairness for all, fostering social and economic development. We aspire to create a future where every individual, regardless of gender or background, has equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to the community's well-being.
The mission of Tupendane Africa Foundation is to effectively and efficiently promote gender equality and freedom from discrimination and segregation for all individuals in society. Through education, vocational training, and community-building initiatives, we strive to eliminate barriers and create a society where every person can achieve their full potential.
We strive to ensure equal participation of men, women, and people with disabilities in all aspects of community life. Through education, awareness programs, and engagement initiatives, we work to break down stereotypes, eliminate barriers, and cultivate a culture that values diversity and respects every individual.
We are dedicated to advocating for equal ownership and access to resources for all, regardless of gender or background. By empowering individuals through education and supporting inclusive policies, we aim to create a society where opportunities are accessible and shared equitably.
Recognizing that economic empowerment is key to breaking the cycle of poverty, we invest in vocational training, skills development, and entrepreneurship projects. These initiatives equip individuals — particularly women — with the tools to build sustainable livelihoods.
We are committed to promoting respectful and healthy relationships between genders. Through open dialogue, workshops, and community outreach, we challenge harmful norms, build understanding, and create supportive environments where all individuals can thrive.

"Before joining Tupendane, I had no income and struggled to feed my children. The sewing program taught me a skill I now use to run my own small tailoring business. I am so proud of what I have built."
"The English classes changed everything for me. I can now speak with tourists and international customers, which has helped me earn more selling my beadwork. My children have food on the table every day."
"As a single mother, I could not afford school for my son. Tupendane's daycare cared for him while I trained. Now I run a small salon, and my son is thriving with full support. Thank you, Tupendane!"
